I am constantly amazed with the business owners I speak with who are unsure of their paid search metrics such as spend, conversion rates and cost per acquisition…all they know is that they use paid search and they also get orders/leads. Ask questions and get answers in the New Year… learn what does and does not work for your paid search campaigns! Are you testing Retargeting? If not, why?? Retargeting enables you to reengage prospects who have visited your website yet did not complete a desired action. Imagine, a parent researching summer camp programs for their child and they visit SummerStudy.com and specifically clicks on the Penn State summer program. Thereafter, the parent leaves the website while never completing a contact form. With Retargeting, you can now serve display and/or text ads to that specific parent as they surf the web across millions of websites. More impressive is the fact that you can also serve Penn State Summer Program display ads to that targeted prospect and ONLY pay for the clicks and visitors to your website, not the impressions (which essentially become free branding)!!
Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Search results are constantly changing and by change I do not simply mean rankings….Now more than ever, videos, product/shopping feeds, maps, pictures, tweets, etc. are popping up in search results. These ‘universal search results’ are becoming the norm and if you’re not in it, you ARE missing out…. One great place to start is the Google Merchant Center ( www.google.com/merchants). You should also make sure your website and landing pages are optimized and using the best SEO-practices.
E-Mail Marketing
GROW, GROW, GROW your own email lists in the New Year – set a goal and do it!
Please ask yourself the following questions: Am I constantly updating our house lists with info from recent orders? Am I targeting my E-Mail creative’s and subject lines based on order history and preference?
Of course there is a lot more you can and should be doing such as mobile marketing, social media and affiliate marketing. The channels outlined above are a very solid foundation for you to start and build scalable and trackable digital marketing campaigns. And of course we’re happy to help in any way we can!
