7 Ways Your Customers are Thankful for Your SEO Campaign

By Scott Litvack, SEO Services

We often think of SEO as a technical and business process that is meant to simply increase revenue.  But as much as you benefit from SEO, so do your customers, by addressing their specific wants and needs. As we get into the final stretch of 2011 and kick off the holiday season, here are some ways your customers are thankful for your SEO campaign:

  1. They find what they are searching for through your organic listings.  It is a fact that 85-90% of searchers click on an organic listing.  Your audience is out there looking for you and clicking on organic results.  SEO is helping to tap into the traffic that you can’t just pull out your credit card and pay for.
  2. You make it easy for them to visit you through keyword rich URLs. Several studies have shown that showing the keyword in the URL on the SERP can dramatically boost CTR.
  3. Customers have increased confidence in your business when SEO and Paid Search work together. Campaigns that run both paid and organic search are building trust and helping to increase brand awareness.
  4. The right keywords match them with the specific products and services they want. People will continue to use keywords as their primary search method for a long time into the future, at least until computers can read our innermost thoughts.  Even Siri, the voice recognition app that comes with the new iPhone returns results based upon the keywords in your question.
  5. SEO helps them make decisions. Since SEO is ultimately a measurable marketing effort, you can offer products, services and offers based upon their behavior.
  6. SEO gives your customers something to talk about. They can use their social power to influence search results.  If the content you deliver resonates with them, they are willing to share, like, tweet or +1 it.
  7. Customers appreciate that your website is relevant and evolving. Your customers are rewarding your website because you don’t consider SEO to be a set it and forget it mentality.  SEO requires regular maintenance, just like your car.  The algorithm changes, keywords change and your business objectives change.  You are willing to make the effort to keep up with those changes.
